General Motors Initiates New Program for Fleet Customers

GMC Fleet Earlier this month, General Motors launched a new program for fleet customers designed to provide small to midsize businesses with the best sales and service experience in the industry. The Business Elite program is geared toward business customers with one to one hundred commercial vehicles. Business Elite offers key benefits to businesses from the time the customer arrives at the dealership through the life of the vehicles they purchase. These benefits include priority service, priority hours, round-the-clock towing, work-ready loaner vehicles, business financing and leasing options, and business vehicle remarketing and zero hassle disposal.

“We continue to raise the bar and improve our customer experience to ensure that we are the preferred vehicle partner for commercial customers,” said Ed Peper, U.S. vice president of Fleet and Commercials Sales for GM. “GM saw a 37 percent increase in sales to small business in January so we think businesses that weathered the economic downturn will be able to refresh their fleets and take advantage of all the benefits our new programs offer.”

Sierra 1500 Proves Its Strength In a Demanding New TV Spot

Sure, with several decades of brawn and strength backing it up, you’ve come to expect a lot from the GMC Sierra pickup. But just how strong is the 2013 Sierra 1500’s steel frame? In a new TV spot, Sierra was put to the test as four mooring winches pulled the truck in all directions a total of 46 times. After withstanding such abuse, the 2013 Sierra Denali used for the spot drove away unscathed.

“We considered countless tasks and conditions where our trucks would head to work when developing the Sierra’s frame, but to be honest, this challenge caught us by surprise,” said Rick Jayroe, engineering group manager for chassis structure and body mounts. “Not only would this test the four mounting points, but only a very strong frame will stay perfectly straight hanging in the air with the weight of the body, powertrain and interior components on it. The Sierra handled it with ease.”
