The Texas Auto Writers Association has just announced the winners of the 20th annual TAWA Truck Rodeo. Buick and GMC proudly swept four award categories this year.
The 2013 Buick Enclave was crowned ‘CUV of Texas,’ one of the rodeo’s top three awards. Since the luxury crossover has yet to even arrive at dealerships, this will be a great promotional tool for the new Enclave. The 2013 Enclave also took home the award for “Full-Size Luxury Crossover.”
Two other vehicles were highlighted by the Texas Auto Writers Association this year. The 2013 GMC Acadia won the “Full-Size Crossover” category while the 2013 GMC Terrain won “Mid-Size Crossover.”
“These latest awards for the Enclave, Acadia and Terrain come from one of the nation’s largest and most important vehicle markets,” explained vice president of Buick and GMC Marketing, Tony DiSalle. “Texas drivers are also some of the most demanding- especially when it comes to utility vehicles- so this is high praise.”
This year marked the 20th anniversary of the TAWA Truck Rodeo. All vehicle winners were selected by the members of the TAWA using a Board election method. Over 60 vehicles were evaluated at the historic Knibbe Ranch in Spring Branch this year.
“There are really no losers in this event,” explained TAWA president Michael Herzing. “The big winners are the consumers of Texas, the No. 1 state in the nation for trucks and sport utility vehicles.”
