Did you know that only 22% of Americans still used printed maps? Instead, many rely on a GPS or smartphone to navigate to their destination. If you are one of those people who would rather use a handheld device, a new Buick would be a great addition to your family. Most 2015 Buick models will be equipped with 4G LTE built in wi-fi technology so you will be able to navigate more efficiently while out on the road. The addition of 4G LTE is also great for keeping your passengers occupied during long commutes. Your family will be able to surf the web, stream movies, and download new music using 4G LTE through OnStar.
Another reason why a Buick is a perfect pick for road trippers is because of its advanced comfort and luxury. Buicks are known for their excellent legroom and personalized touch. If you would like to see why Buicks are built for road trips, stop by Crawford Buick GMC in El Paso, Texas. We’re sure once you experience an all-new Buick for yourself, you will make it your next family vehicle.
Safety and technology come together for the 2015 model year by making the rearview camera standard equipment on all Buick models. Currently rearview cameras are offered on many of Buick’s top trim levels, but we are proud to announce that they will be standard on ALL Buicks for 2015 and moving forward.
Karl Brauer, Senior Analyst for KBB says, “Rear backup cameras have become more like power windows and air conditioning. While they’re not standard on every car, yet, it’s rare to operate a new vehicle without them.” We couldn’t agree with KBB more and expect that rearview cameras will become standard throughout more and more brands because of their ability to keep drivers safe while out on the road.
The rearview camera isn’t the only new standard safety feature for 2015, all Buick models will also feature Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, and Forward Collision Alert. It is also important to note that all GM models come with OnStar’s award-winning telecommunications system.

Very few car companies have reached as many milestones as Buick has. This year the automaker celebrates its 110th birthday and highlights a legacy that spans 11 decades of constant innovation. Buick has become one of the mainstays in the General Motors brand, having survived the axe a few years ago and becoming a true survivor. Buick is currently the oldest active American automobile brand, and one of the oldest automotive brands in the world.
The Buick Motor Company was founded by David Dunbar Buick on May 17, 1903 in Detroit, Michigan. The Buick Model B, Buick’s first production vehicle, was offered to retail customers as a 1904 model. The first of the Model Bs off the assembly line was sold to Doctor Herbert H. Hills of Flint, Michigan, and ironically decades later the brand developed a reputation as a “doctor’s car”. Today Buick makes a variety of luxury cars including LaCrosse, Verano, and the very popular Enclave crossover.
“Consistency, longevity, reliability. Those are the words that come to mind when you talk about Buick,” said Leslie Kendall, curator of the Petersen Automotive Museum, in an interview.
In early 2013, Buick was named Best Value Luxury Brand in Kelley Blue Book’s 2013 Brand Image Awards. With elegant designs, efficient performance, and tech-savvy interiors, Buick shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon. Happy Birthday, Buick!
When it arrives early next year, the 2013 Buick Encore will have a fresh look and smaller design to distinguish it from its siblings. But don’t think that means Buick is cutting corners with this small luxury crossover. Encore will encompass all the same quiet, comfortable, and refined characteristics that define other Buick models. With advanced acoustic technology and attention to detail, the 2013 Encore takes the best luxury features found in other Buick vehicles, such as Bose Active Noise Cancellation, and tucks them nicely inside a compact crossover design.
“Our goal in developing Encore was two-fold – to design a vehicle that sets a refinement standard in the segment for customers who are new to Buick, and to deliver a vehicle that current Buick customers interested in downsizing can get in and fell at home,” said Jim Danahy, Encore chief engineer. “Active Noise Cancellation technology is a smart way to maximize luxury, space and efficiency together.”
With an EPA-estimated combined fuel economy rating of 28 mpg, the 2013 Encore will be cruising into dealerships in early 2013. Watch for its arrival at Crawford Buick GMC. Visit our El Paso dealership in person or online at www.crawfordbuickgmc.com for more information of this distinctly Buick crossover.
The 2013 Encore, Buick’s all-new luxury small crossover, will arrive at dealerships early next year. Along with its arrival, Encore will bring new technology to make all-wheel drive lighter, smoother, and more responsive. Encore’s ‘Active On-Demand’ all-wheel drive system will use magnets to engage a clutch while the vehicle is at rest rather than engaging all four drive wheels after a slip in detected as is the case on traditional systems.
“A Buick all-wheel drive system has to deliver the best traction possible, and it has to do it in a way that’s totally imperceptible to the driver,” said Encore Chief Engineer Jim Danahy. “We engineered Encore’s lightweight, responsive and refined system to deliver on the expectations of demanding luxury buyers.”
Encore will employ an all-wheel drive system that is similar to that of the technology used on the Buick Enclave. With smaller weight and size than its big sibling, Encore benefits with better handling and fuel economy. Encore’s EPA estimated fuel economy with all-wheel drive is 23 mpg city/30 mpg highway.
“Technology is allowing us to translate Buick’s quiet, comfortable ride to smaller vehicles than we could before,” said Danahy. “This all-wheel drive system, like turbocharged engines and Buick QuietTuning technologies, allows drivers to experience that Buick DNA with unprecedented efficiency and maneuverability.”
