2014 Buick Regal Has More Power and Better Efficiency

2014 Buick RegalThe 2014 Buick Regal is currently making its way into dealerships across the country and while this sporty sedan may not seem to have undergone any changes to the naked eye, once you turn on the engine you’ll notice a few adjustments. The revamped 2014 Regal is equipped with its most powerful standard engine ever and also boasts increased fuel efficiency to go with this newfound power.

Under the hood, drivers will find a new 2.0-liter Turbo engine producing an SAE-rated 259 horsepower, 18 percent more than the 2013 Regal Turbo reached. This new Turbo engine first debuted in the Cadillac ATS and was named one of Ward’s 10 Best Engines.

“Power and fuel efficiency are typically mutually exclusive,” said Mike Katerberg, chief powertrain engineer. “But with our new 2.0L Turbo, we were able to increase both and create one of the most torque rich and fuel efficient combinations on the market.”

Watch for the arrival of the new 2014 Buick Regal at Crawford Buick GMC. Visit our El Paso dealership online or in person for more details.

Buick May Bring a Diesel Engine to U.S.

Buick Verano We think the lingering stink and smoke from the diesel engines of the ‘70s and ‘80s is starting to clear as many auto makers are starting to introduce diesel options here in the U.S. One of these is Buick. General Motors has already introduced the Chevrolet Cruze Diesel and it is being received well with positive reviews.

Edmunds reported that an unnamed GM source confirmed the possible Buick diesel model, though would not give specifics. Since GM already has the Cruze Diesel, Edmunds, suspects the Buick model would be the Cruze’s counterpart the Buick Verano.

As CAFE (corporate average fuel economy) standard are getting pushed higher and higher, auto makers have to find ways to make cars more efficient and diesel engines are a great way to do this. The Cruze’s diesel engine is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder that makes 148 horsepower. This engine has an EPA-estimated fuel efficiency of 46 mpg on the highway, which equals over 700 miles on a single tank of gas.

We would love to see this type of efficiency and range in a Buick model. Which Buick model would you like to see with a diesel engine option?

GM Introduces 2015 GMC Sierra HD

2015 Sierra HD Last month, General Motors gave us a peak at the all-new 2015 GMC Sierra HD. These new heavy-duty trucks will be available early next year and include the 2500HD, 3500HD, and the luxurious Denali HD. These trucks offer many class-leading features.

Helping you get the job done is the highest payload capacity available in the segment: 7,374 pounds. This is paired with the highest conventional trailering rating of 19,600 pounds and fifth-wheel trailering capabilities of 23,200 pounds.

The GMC HD trucks are available with gasoline or Duramax diesel engines and a bi-fuel option that combines a compressed natural gas system with a gasoline engine.

Just because your truck is heavy-duty, that doesn’t mean you don’t want to be comfortable. Inside, you’ll find high-tech features and a comfortable interior. GM used larger rear doors and a revised cab body style to make it easier to get in and out of the truck. The back seat also gets 2 more inches of legroom.

Controls are easy-to-reach from the driver’s seat and located where you would expect. There are also more storage compartments and more outlets and plug-ins for your electronic devices. This is all in addition to the GMC IntelliLink infotainment system that comes with an 8-inch color touch screen.

Want more information on any of the 2015 GMC Sierra HD pickup trucks? Give us a call at Crawford Buick GMC and we’ll be glad to answer all of your questions.

All-new exterior and interior designs of Yukon and Yukon XL are crafted to be both beautiful and functional. The 2015 Yukon will also feature the new EcoTec3 engine family that is expected to deliver the best V-8 fuel economy for this segment.

“We’ve engineered the Yukon and Yukon XL from the ground up, building on a strong legacy of capability to take them to the top of the segment with exceptional refinement and purposeful technology,” said Tony DiSalle, vice president of GMC marketing. “And when it comes to tasks people rely on a full-size SUV for, they do it better than ever – and with more style.”

The new Yukon family will be built right here in Texas and is expected to arrive at Crawford Buick GMC and dealerships around the country in the first quarter of 2014. For additional information on the next generation Yukon lineup, visit our El Paso dealership in person or online.

2014 Sierra and Sierra Denali Among First Pickups to Receive Five-Star Safety Score

2014 SierraBeginning with the 2011 model year, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) changed its New Car Assessment Program to include new requirements for vehicles to pass into order to receive the highest possible five-star overall safety rating. Since this new rating system was implemented, no pickup truck has ever attained this five-star score…until now. The all-new 2014 GMC Sierra and Sierra Denali (along with their Chevy Silverado cousin) are the first pickup trucks to receive a five-star Overall Vehicle Score for safety from the NHTSA.

Redesigned inside and out for the 2014 model year, the GMC Sierra mixes rugged styling cues with proven power and dependability. The advanced technologies and tech specs on the 2014 Sierra make it the best Sierra yet. Standard safety features on the base model include daytime running lights, StabiliTrak stability control system, tire pressure monitoring system, 4-wheel antilock disc brakes, and dual-stage frontal and seat mounted air bags for driver and passenger. Additional available safety features include a rear vision camera, lane departure warning, forward collision alert, and safety alert seats that vibrate pulses to warn the driver of potential traffic danger.

“Safety is as important to truck buyers as it is to car buyers,” said Gay Kent, GM general director of Vehicle Safety and Crashworthiness. “Silverado and Sierra set a benchmark for pickup truck safety by offering a full array of advanced features designed to protect occupants before, during, and after a collision.”

Buick Encore Ranked Among the Top Ten Most Fuel Efficient SUVs of 2013

2013 EncoreIn the past, the SUV segment was filled with gas guzzling monsters that were great for hauling around passengers and gear, but couldn’t get you very far on a single tank of gas. Fast forward to 2013 and we are now offered an abundance of great SUV choices that combine versatility and good gas mileage. New to the Buick family this year, the 2013 Buick Encore is already making a name for itself as a capable and fuel efficient compact crossover. The 2013 Encore has landed a spot on Kelley Blue Book’s recently published list of the 10 Most Fuel-Efficient SUVs of 2013.

The 2013 Buick Encore arrived at our dealership back in February. It offers signature Buick characteristics like an attractive upscale interior and numerous luxurious features all packaged together in a compact, yet comfortable, crossover. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard and EPA estimated mileage ratings are up to 25 mpg city/33 mpg highway. Even the base model is well equipped with privacy glass, power windows, a rearview camera, steering wheel controls, satellite radio, and Buick’s IntelliLink infotainment system, all standard.

“Fans of basic Buick panache will find plenty to favor in the new Encore, thanks to its combination of refinement and comfort complemented by a bounty of standard/available features, solid value orientation and outstanding fuel economy,” wrote KBB.com Editor Bob Nagy in a review of the 2013 Encore.
